The music launch of the movie was held on Monday September 12th, 2011 at the Film City in Mumbai.

Superstar Shahrukh Khan released the audio of his most ambitious project Ra.One in Mumbai and he dedicated the music album to late filmmaker Yash Johar and actress Juhi Chawla's brother Bobby Chawla, who is the CEO of his company Red Chillies Entertainment and has been in coma since last year. It was SRK’s close friend, filmmaker Karan Johar, who launched the music album. The launch was a grand event and the evening started with performances on various dance numbers from Ra.One. Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor in a red Sabyasachi sari, Arjun Rampal, Vishal-Shekhar, singer Sukhwinder Singh and others captivated the heart of audiences with their stellar performances to the songs like 'Chamak Chalo', 'Dildaara' and others. Actor Arjun Rampal, who plays villain ‘Ra.One’, came out from hiding for the music launch, but not in his Ra.One look, which has been kept under wraps successfully.  

After launching the music of Ra.One, Shahrukh Khan said, "I want to dedicate this album to Yash Joharji and Bobby. When we started our company Red Chillies Entertainment the one who helped me start it was Bobby and the one who gave me so much love, was Yash Joharji. So this is for them."

The musician duo Vishal-Shekhar said that this was one of their best albums ever and was built for the biggest film of all time. Everything has been grand in the film and so is the music and the collaboration of international personalities like Akon, Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, they added. The lyrics are penned by Atahar Panchi, Vishal Dadlani and Kumaar. Apart from R&B singer Akon, other singers in the album include Sukhwinder Singh, Shruti Pathak, Nandini Shrikar, Hamsika Iyer and Shafqat Amanat Ali. 

The event was graced by Hungama CEO Neeraj Roy, T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar, choreographer Ganesh Hegde, actors Satish Shah, Suresh Menon, Dalip Tahil, sound engineer Resul Pookutty, Shahana Goswami, Sunil Lulla, Krishika Lulla, Ragini Khanna, Sanaya Irani, Pooja Gaur, Deepika Kain, Jiaa Manek, Vivaan Bhathena and many others.
